RaeAna Casillas is a queer first-generation Chicanx with a passion for film, performance art, photography, and social activism. Born into a family of visual artists, RaeAna harbors a unique view of the world of art. They know that art is the key to impacting laws and opening dialogue across diverse communities. At the age of Eight years old, they began to indulge in Arizona’s local theater community which ultimately led them to discover their love for filmmaking. By the age of Eleven, they began to develop a proficiency in editing and utilized these skills for storytelling. Through their work, they hope to create space for conversations surrounding social justice and human rights.
In 2022, they graduated from Arizona School for the Arts with an Arizona State Seal of Arts Proficiency. Currently, they are pursuing a BFA in Film and Media Production at Arizona State University.
